New Avenues for Youth - Sexual and Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) Portland-based program offering a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 to 24. SMYRC provides support groups, creative workshops, and community-building activities tailored to the needs of queer and trans youth. As a program of New Avenues for Youth, SMYRC is committed to youth empowerment and fostering a sense of belonging. SMYRC's services include art and music programs, peer support, case management, and counseling. The center emphasizes youth leadership, encouraging participants to take active roles in shaping the programs and services offered.
